Detailed itinerary for the 8 days Kenya safari, Aberdare Samburu, Nakuru and Masai mara safari

Day 1: transfer from Nairobi to Aberdare national park

This safari starts from Nairobi city and on this day you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast, you will meet your safari guide who will brief you about the safari and then embark on your journey for Aberdare national park. From Nairobi to Aberdare national park it is a drive of 4-5 hours of 198 kilometers northwards of Nairobi. On your way you enjoy views of coffee and pineapple plantations, you will reach the park in time for lunch and after lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive. Aberdare national park is a home to many animals such as lions, leopard, African bush elephant, giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, skyes monkey and many more. These animals are viewed while on a game drive, after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer from Aberdare national park to Samburu national reserve

On the second of the safari you will wake up for early breakfast and then checkout of your lodge and depart for Samburu national park, from Aberdare national park to Samburu national park it is a distance of about 224 kilometers and a drive of 5 hours. You are to arrive in Samburu national reserve in the afternoon time for lunch, after lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the beautiful plains of Samburu national park, on the game drive you will see many animals such as lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah and many wandering in the savannah plains of the park. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: full day in Samburu national reserve

On the third day of the safari you have a full day in Samburu national park with two game drives that is morning and afternoon game drive, you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast. After breakfast you will drive to the park for a game drive, on the game drive you will view many animals such as zebras, lions, elephants and many more. Samburu national park is a great destination for wildlife lovers, after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, relax and have lunch.after lunch in the afternoon you will go for a cultural tour in the Masai village.on your visit in the Masai village you will be entertained by cultural dances and songs, view amazing and colorful traditional wears and also interact with the Masai elders. After the visit you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay over night.

Day 4: transfer from Samburu national reserve to Lake Nakuru national park

On the 4th day of the safari you will wake up for morning breakfast, after breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru national park. Lake Nakuru national park is relatively a small national park but rich with attractions such as lake Nakuru, pink colored flamingoes, zebras, giraffes, white rhino and many more. Lake Nakuru national park is at a distance of 314 kilometers from samburu national reserve, you are to reach in the park in the afternoon for lunch and after lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive.on the afternoon game drive as you drive through the park you will view animals like leopards, cheetah, buffaloes and many more.after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer from Lake Nakuru national park to Masai mara national reserve

On this 5th day of your safari you will wake up early for morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and drive to the park for morning game drive, on the morning game drive you will view animals like lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and many more. After the game drive you will exit the park for Masai Mara national park. From lake Nakuru national park it is a drive of 6-7 hoursdriving through a distance of 275 kilometers, you are to reach Masai Mara national park in the late evening and when you reach you will check in your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: full day Masai mara national reserve

On the sixth day of the safari it is a full day of exploring masai Mara national park, Masai Mara national park is well known for a huge herds of elephants and the annual migration of animals from Serengeti national park of Tanzania which involves high population of animals like wildebeest, zebras coming to the park and he best spot to watch the great migration is around river Mara as they cross. You will wake early for morning breakfast then drive to the park game drive and view many animals most especially lions and leopards, after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have lunch and rest. In the afternoon you will you will drive back to the park for a hot air balloon safari, this safari offers you an eagle’s eyes view of the park and its animals. It is very thrilling watching animals in packs like elephants, wildebeests and many more. After the hot air balloon safari you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stat overnight.

Day 7: full day Masai mara national reserve

On this 7th day you also have a full day in Masai Mara national park famous for wildebeest migration which takes place annually in the months of July to August, you will wake up early for morning breakfast then drive to the park for an early morning game drive.as you drive through the plains of the park you will view animals you might have missed in the previos game drives like elephants, lions, rhinos and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have lunch as your preparing for amadai community visit in the afternoon.an afternoon visit in the Masai community you will enjoy the beautiful Masai culture, traditions and norms such as traditional dances and songs, locally built manyattas and also get a chance to participate in livestock rearing. At the end of the day you will drive back to your lodge rest, have dinner and stay over night

Day 8: transfer from Masai mara national reserve back to Nairobi

On this last day of your 8 days safari, you will wake up in the morning, check out of your lodge and depart the park for Nairobi. From Masai Mara national park it is a drive 6-7 hours. On your way you will make a stopover in Narok town for lunch and then proceed with your drive to Nairobi, in Nairobi you will be dropped off either at the airport or at your hotel marking the end of the safari.
