The Giraffe Manor is a luxury hotel owned by the safari collection. Set on a 12 acre private property, the luxury hotel is surrounded by indigenous forest. The hotel is located in the suburbs 15km from the city center and 8Kms to Nairobi national park. Giraffe Manor is an iconic building and a historic manor dating back to the 1930s. The luxury hotel has an elegant interior, lush green gardens, sunny terraces and charming courtyards.

The Giraffe Manor has a herd of resident giraffes that regularly visit in the mornings and evenings. They poke their heads in the wide open windows hoping for a treat, giving you close encounters with the Rothschild giraffes. Built  in the 1932, the Giraffe Manor has 6 rooms offering comfort and luxury. The hotel has been renovated and luxuriously furnished to offer a relaxing getaway while on your safari. The rooms have retained their 1930 charm and character by the original art, antique furniture and history through the names of each room.

Karen Blixen Suite.

Located on the top floor of the giraffe Manor, the Karen Blixen suite enjoy spectacular views offering you the chance to feed the giraffes from your balcony in the mornings. The suite has 2 bedrooms each equipped with its own en-suite facilities with a shower, bathtub and sinks. The master bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed while the second room has 2 single beds. The suite has a spacious lounge, a fire place and a writing desk. The walls are adorned with magnificent artwork, a dressing table, and a wardrobe.

Betty superior room

Named after Betty, the lovely south facing room has a king sized bed and a fire place. The balcony offers amazing views and opportunity to feed the giraffes. The room has en-suite facilities with its original art style with a bathtub and shower. The room has a double bed and is therefore ideal for couples.

Daisy’s superior room

Daisy’s superior room offers wonderful views of the Ngong hills. The balcony offers spectacular views and chances of feeding the giraffes from your rooms. The room can be converted into a double or twin room. The room has en-suite facilities with twin sinks and a spacious shower.

Jock’s superior room

This room is well situated with lovely views of the giraffe center. The balcony offers perfect opportunity to have close and personal interactions with the giraffes. The room is furnished with a double/twin beds, a fire place an en-suite facilities with a bathtub and shower.

Marlon’s superior room

This room has twin beds that can be converted into a double bed. An adjoining sitting room has a comfortable sofa that can be converted into a bed for a child. The room is east facing and offers giraffe feeding opportunities. The master bedroom is en-suite with shower, bathtub and twin sinks.

Lynn’s superior room

This lovely room is located on the ground floor of the main manor. Once a house kitchen, the room was beautifully converted into an elegant room with en-suite bathroom, shower and twin sinks. The room can be converted into a double room or a twin room. It has a small veranda that leads to the outdoor sitting area where you can feed the giraffes as they stroll past.

Finch Hatton Suite

This suite is located on the ground floor of the Garden manor. Here, you will see the giraffes as they stroll past the Giraffe Manor. The suite is furnished with a double bed and twin beds in the loft accessible by a spiral stair case. A sofa bed can accommodate another child if needed. The suite is equipped with en-suite, a unique double headed shower, bathtub and twin sinks. The sitting area in this suite has a cozy fireplace for warmth on the chilly Nairobi nights.

Helen’s superior room

The Helen’s superior room is located at the corner of the Giraffe manor. It is spacious and is often visited by hungry giraffes. The room is furnished with twin beds that can be put together to form a large double bed. The room is spacious enough to accommodate a small extra bed for a child. The room has en-suite facilities of bathtub, shower and twin sinks. Views of the Ngong hills and giraffe center and on a clear day Mt Kilimanjaro can be enjoyed from this room.

Kelly’s superior room

This room is located upstairs in the garden manor. It is beautifully furnished with traditional cane and an outstanding stained glass wall in the bathroom. The room is furnished with 3 single beds, 2 of which can be combined to form a big double bed. A fire place allows you to relax and enjoy the cozy atmosphere at the Giraffe Manor. Kelly’s superior room is en-suite with a bathtub, shower and twin sinks. You can feed the giraffes as they come for a treat in the early mornings.

Arlene’s superior room

Arlene’s superior room is located on the upper floor of the Garden manor. The room is famous for its quirky shaped bathroom and vintage toilet.  It is furnished with King sized bed and is ideal for couples. It offers lovely views of the courtyard between the main house and and the Garden manor. The giraffes don’t have access to the Arlene’s room but allows viewing as they gallop for their morning treat at the Giraffe Manor.

Salma superior room

Salma superior room is one of the newest rooms at Giraffe Manor. It was built in 2017 and is located on the top floor of the garden manor. With breathtaking views of the courtyard and sanctuary forest, the room has twin beds that can be converted into a double. The room has a soda that converts into a bed that can accommodate a child. The en-suite facilities include, bathtub, a single sink and a shower. The room has a private balcony with comfortable furniture for you to relax and enjoy the views of giraffes. The room is private and quiet offering exclusive moments after your Kenya safari. However, stairs to this room are abit steep and thus not ideal for guests with mobility issues.

Edd’s superior room

This lovely room was built as an addition to the garden manor in 2017. Located on the ground floor, the room has striking stained glass windows and a comfortable king sized bed. A sofa in the room can be converted into a child’s bed if needed. The room has en-suite facilities like a corner bathtub, twin sinks and a shower. The room doesn’t have access to giraffes but the room has an outdoor veranda that is furnished with a private bar on request.

Giraffe Manor Activities

BREAKFAST WITH THE GIRAFFES

At Giraffe Manor, you have the unique experience of having breakfast with the giraffes. As you settle down to your breakfast, you will see them galloping across the lawns, peering their long necks through the windows in hope of getting a treat. The hotel will provide you with nutritious and tasty treats for the giraffes. Since these giraffes are wild, we cannot guarantee any interaction with them at any given time.

VISIT THE GIRAFFE CENTER

After a restful night, you can stroll across the lawns of Giraffe Manor and visit the giraffe center. The center was established in 1979 with the sole purpose of breeding, preserving the Rothschild giraffes. The center aims to provide education about wildlife and environment to school children in Kenya. Have more close interactions with the giraffes as you feed them and get a kiss for your trouble.

ORCHID HOUSE

The Giraffe Manor has a beautiful orchid house that offers exclusive moments on your Kenya safari. You can read, meditate and stretch in this little perch of heaven. Enjoy a romantic candle light dinner in the foliage of the orchid house.

HORSE RIDING IN NAIROBI

Horse riding is another amazing view of enjoying the outdoor at Giraffe Manor. The Malo stables offer fantastic forest rides. With the well trained horses, enjoy the forest as you ride in the sunset.

 VISIT ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

Just a few minutes away, you can visit the Elephant orphanage at Sheldrick wildlife trust. Here, you will be able to see the orphaned elephants as they feed and play. Better yet, you can adopt an elephants and help in the preservation of these amazing wildlife.

GAME DRIVE IN NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

During your stay at the Giraffe Manor, embark on a game drive in Nairobi national park. Spot the different wildlife like white and black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebra, wildebeest and so much more.
