Kenya is located in Africa and particularly the East African region. It is one of the best safari destinations in the region having a wide range of attractions ranging from natural and man-made attractions that is national parks with unique wild life, unique culture and people, breathtaking beaches to mention but a few. The country is visited by multitudes of tourists annually who return home with unforgettable memories worth keeping for a life time.

Any foreign national who wishes to visit Kenya should visit the country’s website to check out on their visa requirements. However, before applying for the visit you must make sure you have a valid passport or travel document issued by your state of resident/origin/home country. The Kenyan standard e-visa costs USD51 per applicant and the period of issuance may take up to 3 working days. However, there are other two types of visas that can be issued within a shorter period of time that is the rush visa and the emergency visa and these attract an extra amount of money.

BE ADVISED THAT KENYA DOES NOT ISSUE VISAS UPON ARRIVAL and all foreign nationals intending to visit the country must attain their visas on-line. While preparing to process the Kenya entry Visa, you must attach the following documents to your application depending on your purpose of travel/visit to Kenya and how long you are to stay. Please note that in the case where you are applying for a tourist visa the following documents are needed to be in PDF, Jpg or Microsoft word and any other documents as requested by the state.

  • A valid travel documentnot older than six months.
  • A return flight ticket.
  • A passport-sized photograph taken within the last six months. The photo must be in colors and in line with Kenya visa photo requirements.
  • A flight itinerary.Enclose details of your flight such as the entry/depart dates,
  • An accommodation proof that is Confirmed hotel booking/s.
  • A travel itinerary including details about places you plan to visit in the country.

Guidelines on how to apply for a Kenya

The visa is applied for online via the country’s website Kenya visa online. However, please follow these instructions guidelines for an easier application process and in case of any obstacles or failure please visit the Kenyan embassy in your country

  1. Enter the Kenya e-Visa official page.
  2. Open a new account; all you need is your ID number.
  3. Select the type of visa you need.
  4. Fill out the Kenya application form.
  5. Pay the application fee using a valid bank card, online money, or online banking.
  6. You will receive an email or SMS notification every time a new application change has been made.
  7. After receiving the application response, download it in PDF from any source.

Please take note that the following nations and categories of people are exempted from visa requirements if they fulfill some of the following criteria; Children under the age of 16, Everyone who needs to transit through Kenya, if they do not need to leave the airport/ship or the international transit area, British Armed Forces that are serving members, crew members of aircraft for seven days and ships for 14 days, private aircraft owners who need to stop in Kenya for refueling purposes and holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports of; Brazil, China, Cuba, Israel, India, Iran, Turkey and Nigeria

Be advised that visa applications from the citizens of the following countries and states are referred to the Directorate of Immigration Services and the application process may take a longer time therefore you need to plan your travel accordingly: Afghanistan, Armenia, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, North Korea, Palestine, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Yemen,
